Nepal’s Development Tragedy: Threats and Possibilities seeks to find out what factors– capital, policy, governance or institutions–were constraints to Nepal’s development. It analyses Nepal’s development experiments, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, unemployment, state restructuring, fiscal federalism and inclusive growth based on the author’s applied research conducted for various UN agencies. As some of the recommendations of the work have already been reflected in the government’s policy decisions, this book is expected to be helpful to the government, development partners, research scholars, academics and students.
